The Provost Federal College of Education (Technica), Akoka, Dr. Sijibomi Olusanya said the mass failure in Senior School Certificate Examination is not surprising, saying the problem started from Primary Education because foundation is the key to success, but it is unfortunate that we are not doing the right thing. Dr. Olusanya stated that qualified teachers with good pay will enhance success but it is a pity that qualified teachers are roaming the street, one needs to know one politician before one can be employed.

In response in respect of private schools, Dr. Olusanya said the private schools we have are doing business and most of them cannot pay qualified teachers. It is worthy to note that FCE (T), Akoka Secondary School is the best in Lagos and rated second in Nigeria as shown in the recent released results of the SSCE. On how to solve the problem, Dr. Olusanya said the problem can be solved by regulating private schools and making sure that Education Inspectors are more efficient and qualified personnel are employed.
