To enhance the capacity of librarians in the acquisition of skills for managing e-library, the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) held a capacity building workshop on the acquisition and management of e-library for Librarians in Public Tertiary Institutions in the South-West. The programme which took place in the School of Science Education complex of the College was well attended by dignitaries. In his opening remark, the Provost of the College Dr. Sijibomi Olusanya stated that the importance of the programme is to serve as a stepping stone in providing the requisite skills necessary to the management of e-libraries and sharing of information across our Federal Institutions libraries in Nigeria. The Provost stated that libraries are key institutions in the context of achieving global literacy around the world and as more people have become active participants in the digital and information age, acquisition and management of e-library is therefore and important component of literate societies. This allows people search and locate information using digital technology.

Speaking at the occasions, the Chairman of the Board of Trustee of TETFUND, Dr. Musa Babayo (Talbon Katagum) stated that the major objective of (TETFUND) is to ensure that its intervention programmes build a critical mass of high quality facilities and skilled man power that can complete globally and positively contribute towards the attainment of the government transformation agenda for national development.
Also the Chairman said that TETFUND has been a veritable source of guarantee fund for desired intervention at tertiary level of education of which library development is not an exception. TETFUND had between 2001-2013 allocated a sum of N23,842 billion to all Public Tertiary Institution for the acquisition of library books and e-resources.
In his words, the TETFUND executive secretary Prof. Sulaiman Elias Bogoro made it clear that the organization Board of Trustees has approved a-5year (2014/2019) vision for the fund to depend its focus on academic content, quality and excellence, according to him, it is important that TETFUND continues to be responsible and responsive to the needs of its beneficiaries and stakeholders in the most effective and efficient manner.
